What is Tango3?
T3 or Tango3 (phonetic alphabet) means the time, talent, and/or treasure used to facilitate good.
I believe that we all have a moral obligation to make the world a better place. I recall my daughter once telling me that we can all work to facilitate good.
To that end I have spent the majority of my adult life working with various nonprofit organizations, most notably the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, veteran organizations like the Marine Corps League, Kiwanis, the American Red Cross and many others.
Our mission is to support vetted nonprofit organizations that have programs designed to address major problems in society with best practice cultures and procedures. On those rare occasions when we find problems and cannot identify a suitable organization to fund, it is our intention to use our own resources to create one.
The catalyst for Tango3.org, I was having a conversation with a colleague regarding the building of very successful platforms for hospitals, universities, states, etc. to drive better patient outcomes that he is involved with, when it dawned on me that the platform could be adapted for suicide prevention and other mental health programs for veterans. From there we spent a great deal of our time, talent and treasure meeting with Senators, congressmen, VA officials and others we even sent a proposal to the VA via our congressman’s office under former President Trump's program for veteran suicide PREVENTS. Always the same old talk of "this is what we have been looking for, no one has anything quite like this, but how do we pay for it?". Fed up with the bureaucratic red tape we decided to raise the money ourselves. Knowing that we could not take away from any of the other currant charities that we were working with we realized that we had to find another way to raise the needed capital. Fast forward several months while helping to raise money for a military family day, I met a fifth generation cattleman and his wife Wayne and Michelle Johnson owners of Dove Creek Wagyu Cattle Company they breed, raise and sell the high-end Japanase Akaushi Wagyu beef to restaurants, they had the idea to make jerky from the trim pieces. Together we created a beef jerky program where the profits would go to vetted veteran programs and the suicide-prevention platform.
It was at this point I realized the need for a legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit in order to facilitate the good that we were trying to accomplish, at the same time it made sense to bring decades of my life’s work and knowledge with charities under one banner with the first vertical being the veteran jerky project in partnership with Dove Creek.
